FOR SALE - 1982 Cape Dory 27 "ANGELINA"- SOLD

Post by abreece »

ANGELINA, hull number 244 is for sale as the owner has bought a bigger boat.

Vessel History:
ANGELINA (ex. SNOW FALCON) was ordered and bought new by the first owner (who is a great friend of mine - I am the second owner). She was custom ordered from Cape Dory to have an Edson pedestal wheel. She spent the first 20 years of her life (1982 - 2002) in Louisville, KY on the Ohio River (fresh water). She's spent the next 10 years in salt water under my ownership (9 years in Brooksville, ME, and the past year in Mystic, CT).

Prior to arriving in Mystic last spring, she underwent major deck work by Northern Yacht Restoration under the supervision of Tim Lackey: http://www.lackeysailing.com/angelina/angelina.htm

A Few Noteworthy Facts:
1. ANGELINA has a 2-cylinder 13hp Yanmar diesel engine (excellent condition).
2. New dodger and mainsail cover in 2005.
3. Original mainsail and 150% roller furling genoa. 115% roller furling genoa (2001).
4. Newer (1998?) light blue and white striped cushions (down below and cockpit).
5. Custom built screen for forward hatch.

ANGELINA is in excellent “turn key” condition and believed to be one of the nicest Cape Dory 27’s on the market. Anyone looking for a bristol condition CD27 should look no further. More pictures and information send upon request.

After receiving her spring commissioning, including:

1. All fluids and filters in engine replaced, as well as impeller and thermostat.
2. Thorough cleaning of cabin.
3. ALL white gelcoat waxed (i.e. topsides, cabin sides, deck, cockpit, etc.)
4. Three (maintenance) coats of Epifanes high gloss varnish on all exterior brightwork.

ANGELINA was launched today (7/3/2012).

Her owners are moving forward on a bigger boat, so all inquiries and offers are encouraged.

Hi Bob,

Thanks for your interest. Unfortunately your opinion of ANGELINA'S value differs greatly from the surveyor, insurance company, yacht broker (who will list the boat come Aug. 1), and current market conditions. Therefore, I am going to pass on your sight unseen offer.

I wish you well on your Cape Dory search-

Very Best,
Andrew

I had followed Angelina's renovations on Lackey's site. I'm not experienced in boat buying but I would think the price is reasonable considering the peace of mind that comes with knowing the extensive work that was done making sure the core is solid and taken care of in general.

She is a nice looking boat. I've bought a Nor'sea 27 so no longer in the market. Still nice to see what Cape Dory's are available. I wish you the best in a sale.

Andrew, you are much more of a gentleman than I am. My response would have been a bit different if I responded at all, Steve.
