Quite some time ago I joined up here and asked a question or two about the Cape Dory 25. Eventually, I found what I was looking for in Racine, WI., and my husband and I drove back there (from Arizona) to buy a Cape Dory 25. We towed our little boat home and spent quite some time tidying her up - not that she was in bad shape, but since my husband is a shipwright by trade, he's very particular.
Anyway, we finally launched our boat yesterday at Lake Pleasant, AZ, and the boat is moored at Scorpion Bay. We re-named her Lucky Me, and she is hands down the best-looking little sailing vessel there. We'll only keep the boat there during the summer months this year, and will be taking her to the San Juans next summer.
Someone from this site emailed me quite some time ago asking if I'd bought a boat, and of course I neglected to keep the email, so I have no idea who that was.
My only disappointment is that the boat was advertised to have bronze ports, and they are NOT bronze. The seller says the yacht broker has them...the yacht broker never responds to my queries.
I love this boat. It's the smallest we've ever owned, and I think it's perfect for what we're doing nowadays. Eventually I'll upload some photos. Hope it won't be in another two years!
