tohatsu 8 hp , four stroke

Question.......will a tohatsu 8 hp four stroke outboard motor fit in the motor compartment of a cape dory 25? I am buying a new engine and would like to know if this motor will fit. reply at this site.

Ron, I used a Nissan 8hp, four stroke(same engine) in my CD25. It fit but the cover wouldn't close, I had to raise the engine cover by about 1 1/2 inches. Good luck.

My 6HP Nissan just fits in my 1974 CD25.

I have the Nissan 6HP Sail Pro and its a nice motor. No issues with it at all and it does fit.
