Cheek Blocks on Typhoon Mast
Can anyone help explain the function served by the pair of Cheek Blocks mounted on my Typhoon Mast? The pair is located just a couple of inches below the jib halyard exit sheave.
How can my boat account be empty, I still have more checks?

A look at your boom might answer the question.
This is a guess on my part but if you also have a couple of small pad eyes on each side of the boom then the check blocks were probably part of a lazy jack system.
All you would need to recreate it is the made up lines. They might even be with the boat somewhere. Or you could just chose to ignore them, Steve.

Steve's probably right but my first thought was for a jiffy reefing system.
