I am the proud owner of a 1985 Cape Dory 30 Cutter, Hull #355. In the current configuration (done sometime in the past) the boat has a "holding tank" that only holds about 5 gallons and is located in the after part of the keel. Access is through a hatch and access plate just under the companionway steps (it all looks original). Pumpout is in the cockpit. There is no macerator nor space to locate one. There is no indication that a holding tank was ever located under the v-berth as manufacturers literature indicates. The head is forward of the salon on the port side. Anyone else have this configuration? Is a holding tank under the v-berth the answer to increased capacity?

Fhloston Paradise Hull #363 has the same configuration. Nothing is wrong with your boat.
