Blue "X"

Post by Sea Hunt Video »

This is a test to see if there is a blue "X" in lower right hand corner of post.

I definitely see a blue x.

Can you tell me of a post where you do not see a blue x?

Ahhh I see the pattern... you can only delete your last post... and probably only if it's the last post in the thread.

This test should confirm my hypothesis.

Yep... as Becky I can't delete a post unless it's the last post in a thread.

Let me see if I have this correct. You two are both "computer geeks" (and I use that term with great love, respect, admiration and awe) and you both are sending emails back and forth to eachother. You have the same name, the same boat - so I assume the same house and bed. While I much appreciate the effort it would seem to me (an old geezer but Italian to the core  ) that you could find something else to do on a cold winter's evening rather than worry about some mysteriously disappearing blue "x" that some idiot in South Florida can't find.

My recommendation - open a bottle of Chianti Ruffino Classico Reserve de Ducale, get some nice Italian Fontina cheese, some Italian priscutto and crackers and have a "blue X'' party :) :) :)

That was very funny.

Actually it was me (Bob) posting the whole time.

Cathy:

Unless "Becky" (my intelligence sources tell me this may in fact be "Bob Dugan") is wrong, a poster CANNOT even delete his/her own post "unless it's the last post in a thread".

To someone who knows absolutely nothing about computers, software, programs, etc. this seems strange.

For example, a person submits a post that, upon reflection, he (or she) decides should not have been posted. If someone has already responded to that post there is no way for the prior poster to withdraw his or her post.

If we, as posters, (NOT administrators) are able to delete our posts BEFORE anyone else has posted after us (as suggested by "Becky" a/k/a "Bob" D.) why is it not possible to reconfigure the new software or program or whatever it is so that this capability is not lost after someone else posts a comment :?: It seems arbitrary and does not seem to advance any beneficial goal.

Just the rambling thoughts of an old computer illiterate diver/sailor who could not do either today.

Hey, y'all.... what's this about a Blue X on the bottom right corner? I don't see any? Am I missing something? BTW, Sea Hunt, I'm planning to be at the boat show (Miami) on Saturday. Will you be there too? Maybe we can meet sometime during the day. It is bloody cold and blustery today to go sailing here. Cheers
