CD25 Coach Roof/Liner Core

This query goes under the heading of ask before drilling. I am planning on installing 2 halyard winches and attendant hardware on my coach roof. My question is this: Is there some foam core between the outer glassed roof and the cabin liner? My plan, after talking to Gougeon Bros Technical people is; rather than drill a large hole in the liner to install a backplate and then cover it up with some teak plug I would have two stainless plates. One predrlled for the winch bolts which wopuld be epoxied to the outer coach roof. A second backing plate epoxied to the liner. All I would do for prep is drill the through bolt holes completely through the roof and liner then align the backing plate to the holes, epoxy in place. On the outside I would drill addtional holes for the winch base mount, only deep enough for the nuts to seat leaving the mount base flush. Then, bolt n the winch to the winch base. Next, epoxy the mounting base to the roof. Now once this subassembly has cured fill the throughbolt holes with a thickened resin and torque down the through bolts to the backing plate and wait for it to cure. The basis for this whole dissertation is that the space between the roof and liner is NOT SPACE but some sort of core. I would appreciate feed back from anyone who has mounted hardware on the coach roof

Our CD25 does not have a core between the headliner and the coach roof. The previous owner of our boat was beginning to set it up for single handing with cheek blocks on the coach roof, but didn't finish the job. So I need to finish it up with the teak plugs. It was, however, convenient to have these little access holes to fish the radio cable "invisibly" thru the cabin.
