Need work done on east coast of Florida, south of Vero

Post by captzigzag »

My bedding for the motor mount needs some fixing. The Yanmar 30F and mount needs to be lifted and support bar replaced. While there, I'll have them install a proper autopilot for this size boat.

A Simrad wheel-pilot is not rated for this size vessel. It desinagrated in front of my very eyes in a following sea between Abaco and Elutheria.

In George Town, Exuma and will return in April. It's been a beautiful trip and will return to Marsh Harbour in the fall.

Please recommend a yard between Ft Lauderdale and Vero.

Orie -
I can sympathize re: wheel pilot. Ours bit it too (and we hadn't gotten used to the Monitor yet). The weather picked up right after you left Marsh Harbor -- we were wondering how you were doing. Glad to hear you made it to Eluthera okay! No suggestions for southern FL, but if you wind up further north (St Augustine / Jacksonville) I can offer a few. Carolyn says Hi!
Best,
Matt

Matt,

After anchoring off Royal Island I complimented Betty on how she handled the trip. She said her concern was her life and mine was the boat. Luckily, she didn't feel her life was in danger. Good to hear from you and give Carolyn our best.

Cheers, Orie
