Established in 1942, the Fairhope Yacht Club, located on the beautiful banks of Bayou Volanta on the eastern shore of Mobile Bay, completed their new facility in 2008.

For those CDSOA members arriving in Fairhope for the annual meeting by boat, you'll find the club at: 30° 32'29"N 87° 54'14"W.

FYC's harbor consists of 134 slips, ranging in size from 19' to 40'. Open docks are available for visiting boats. There is a pump-out station, a 2-ton boat hoist, a 3-ton boat hoist and a launching ramp is located inside the calm harbor. CLICK HERE for a harbor drawing.

By vehicle, whether traveling East or West on 1-10, take the Daphne/Spanish Fort Exit (Exit 35) and turn South on US Highway 98. Travel approximately 7.3 miles and bear right onto US-98-Alt (flag pole and Welcome to Fairhope sign as you bear to your right). Travel 1.0 mile and turn right on Volanta Avenue. FYC is at the end of Volanta, on Mobile Bay.

and existing members who were late in paying their dues will receive their Fairhope Brochure and Registration Form, etc., this coming week. I intend to mail the last 47 on Monday. I hope I didn't miss anyone. We need a head count pretty soon, so those of you (like me) who have procrastinated please go ahead and register for the National Meeting. I need to let the Yacht Club know well ahead of time how much food to prepare.

Bruce and I, and my mom, will be there. We'll be driving all the way from New Jersey too. First we'll stop in North Carolina to pick up my mom, then we're off for Alabama. We also plan on visiting my Aunt in Pensacola and Bruce's mom in Lake Wales, Florida.

It'll be ALOT of time sitting in the car, but you guys are worth it.

The first 3 days are free on the FYC's T-piers or available slips. After that $.50 a foot, 10 day max. Longer term stays can be arranged with the Eastern Shore Marina across from the FYC on Fly Creek or with the Fly Creek Marina a bit farther up the creek. Listed below are the contact numbers.

The registration deadline is 1 October, that is this coming Saturday. We need to have a good count for the Fairhope Yacht Club in order to plan the meals, so please get your check in the mail on Monday, Wednesday will probably be too late.
