Does anyone know if you can clean Cape Dory curtains (1985 boat, manual says they are generally 77% cotton/23% acetate) in a regular washer? Or use the new home drycleaning options? The dry cleaners want an outrageous amount because of all the little plastic parts and pleats - have tried more than one place. The curtains have some minor mildew but overall they are in good shape. Suggestions welcomed!!

Re: Cleaning curtains
Sandra,
My wife Carol washes them in Woolite, rinses them in lemon juice and water to kill the mildew and then dries them in the sun. Works every time.

Re: Cleaning curtains
My wife has actually washed them a couple of times....not machined but hand soaked.....indicated she might have used dish washing detergent. Came out pretty good.
