Replacement head faucet

Post by rghinson »

My faucet hose is leaking. There seems to be a break/hole in the hose right below the handle fitting. I have looked long and hard for a replacement but can't find one. Does anyone have a lead on this part or a good idea for an alternative arrangement? I am willing to replace the entire faucet assembly if necessary but would rather just replace the hose.

Thanks,

We never used the shower in the head so I pulled the faucet out and installed a standard home faucet set. I don't know if this helps with your situation but it was much cheaper than any "marine" unit and there are all sorts of choices.

We have a shower set up with the faucet in a cockpit locker. You can wash with salt water and rinse with fresh. Make a huge mess and you don't have to dry everything afterward. If it is chilly or privacy is an issue, we rig a piece of canvas around the back of the dodger.

It just seems wrong to shower in the head with all that beautiful teak, Steve.

Reid,

Check at Camping World or the like. I have seen some faucet assemblies there that will work. I need to replace mine but I keep trying to nurse it along since the new stuff is just chrome plated plastic instead of the metal part that was original. Its amazing that West Marine has stopped carrying this stuff.

If you search for faucet in this forum you should find a post by Cathy Monaghan from several years ago that provides a source for the original faucet setup, or at least a current replacement.

Don't know if the link below will help. It's what was on my 33' and I replaced it with same. I waited for a new one on ebay. It was around a $100.
