Getting close to splash...

Post by sfreihofer »

After 4 years of work, I'm getting very close to completion of the restoration of 1981 CD 25 #794. I was going to name her "Exit Strategy", but Zeida of Bandolera II convinced me that name was not adequately ebullient, so I have decided on "PEARL" instead... a jewel of the sea.

Hey Stan.........she looks sweet, nice job. My 1st 'real' sailboat was a CD25 and I had a great time learning and sailing her.
My current 30 was a basket case when I got her and it took me about the same # of years to restore. There is no more of a satisfying feeling than splashing her after all that work.....best of luck.

She is immaculate and worthy of admiration as are your efforts. Questions, how did jou treat the teak, and how do you plan to launch her? Do you plan a roll off? How did you raise the mast in the drive way? My CD26D is still in the hanger awaiting finish up work. I am jealous.

Stan,

I am convinced there is a special place in heaven for people who take neglected boats and restore them. I believe there is a special spot already reserved there for you. Great work!

The boat will surely take care of you in gratitude for saving her.

Enjoy the sailing, you've earned it.
