Dyer Dhow with Sailing Option

I'm the second owner of a 2001 9' Dyer Dhow. It was barely used when I bought it from a former CD 27 owner in 2006 and it has been in the water maybe one week per year since then. It is in great shape. I typically would trailer it up to Maine from PA when my adult kids would be up to our camp in Boothbay Harbor, thinking it might get more use. It hasn't. Being one of three dinghy's and needing some more storage space back home its going on the market.

For anyone not familiar with the Dyer Dhow, aesthetically it is a perfect fit with Cape Dory's traditional looks with all bronze hardware to match our CD's. The Dyer Dhow is the longest continuously produced fiberglass boat (since 1949). This boat has just about every option that was available. Its rated for four persons but that would be a stretch unless all were on the small side. It tows straight with out any wandering (I learned surprisingly that the center board needs to be up to tow straight)

Here's a further description of the boat and equipment:

White hull with blue interior and bronze fittings and stern knees
Original bottom paint (still in good shape)
Padded canvas (synthetic) rub rail
Two piece spruce mast and boom, bronze fittings, cleats
Custom canvas mast and boom storage cover (some wear spots from trailer vibration).
Mahogany mast step
Spruce gunnel/gunwale with bronze rivets (could use some varnish touch up)
Wood trimmed lever operated centerboard
Kick-up rudder with bronze fittings and spruce tiller
White sail with sail bag
Shaw and Tenney spruce oars (Maine's premiere oar maker,leathers could be replaced)
Bronze oar locks
Mahogany outboard bracket (takes up to 2 HP)
Canvas boat cover with bows/battens and bronze fittings
Mahogany seats (unfinished) with bronze supports / knees (Teak seats might be the one option this boat doesn't have).
16'(approx) Bandit trailer with custom wood racks to match hull shape ; "Bearing Buddy's on the hubs.
Tires / wheels are new last summer

The boat has been either covered or stored in a barn at all times with the trailer blocked off the wheels.

Have original builders certificate and title for trailer (PA)

I'd also be open to trades with or without cash in either direction depending on the boat. I'm toying with the idea of getting a little runabout (maybe a whaler) of some type or a daysailer (maybe even a Typhoon).

I'll attest to the quality of Dyer Dhows. My parent's gave my brother, sister, and me one for Christmas when I was a kid. We got the boat and oars the first year, the sailing rig the next, and a motor the next if I remember correctly. Now it's my dinghy over 20 years later. Beautiful boats that sail and row great (they motor OK). For a 9' boat, they sure are easy on the eyes.

You don't happen to have any experience with the Dyer 12 1/2' daysailer? If I don't have any luck selling the Dhow I was considering trading in the Dhow for a new or used 12 1/2' from Dyer.

I haven't sailed the 12 1/2. Dyer has been pretty friendly to me when I've called them for parts or with questions though. I'd bet they'd let you go out for a test sail if you are considering an upgrade.
