volvo penta md11c
I am trying to find a torque wrench for a Volvo Penta MD11C. The part number is 884714. It is to tighten the oil strainer nut. It has four little nubs that insert into the "nut" and must be tightened to 70 nm. I have checked everywhere and tons of dealers. The engine was built between 1975 and 1981. Any suggestions for what can be used instead of this tool? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Until I tighten this nut, I can't get pressure. Thanks

Thank you, it was a great tip. I got all excited and when I spoke with Noreen this morning she said that she would have to order it from Volvo and it is on back order. I got the same response from other dealers that I spoke with. No one seems to know how long this back order will take, as there is no estimated date available from Volvo.

I can't figure out how to post a photo but I can post the link that has a picture.
http://www.bluemoment.com/manuals/Volvo ... _17C_D.pdf
On the link, go to page 29, item #82. The tool and nut are on the left side.
The absolute cheapest I have been able to find this tool online is for $112.00 plus shipping but nobody has it in stock.

I have to ask, how did you get it off in the first place?
The picture was very helpful, thanks for posting that.
If you cannot find a place to buy it (which certainly would be easiest), you should be able to make something that works yourself or get a local machinist to do it. It looks to me like a piece of round stock drilled for 4 dowel pins on one side and with a squared off end on the other side for a wrench would do the trick.
Good luck.
