Hi All,
I recently bought a 1975 CD 28' and am doing a refit. I'm fortunate that the boat is in pretty good shape for its age so after a little fiberglass work and some varnishing I hope to have her back in the water. The most pressing concerns are a few aftermarket seacock installations which had corroded to the point of shearing off. I've also got a broken portlight and unfortunately got the plastic portlights rather than the Spartan bronze.
Which leads me to the want ad. I'm looking for:
-3/4" and 1.5" though-hulls or seacocks. I could also use 1" if you have both thru-hull and seacock. My preference is for old tapered plug ones (don't have to be Spartan) but I could also use quality bronze fittings of any type. Not too concerned about keeping things period correct or anything, just trying to save on the prices of buying new!
-Bronze portlights of the standard Cape Dory size (I know, it's a long shot!), or a single plastic portlight to replace the one which is actually broken. It's the larger two sizes on my boat but seems original so should be a stock size. The pane is 18" across and the frame about 20 5/16.
I'm sure I'll find more things I need as the refit progresses, and I'll probably have questions for you folks in other parts of the forum. For now, thanks for your help! Great site you've got here.
