We plan to anchor in Carter Creek or Yopps Cove.

Typhoon Nationals

Hi Mitchell:

So far, there will be 33 Typhoons sailing next weekend in the first ever Typhoon Nationals racing on the beautiful Rappahannock River. There are several options for leaving your Ty on Carters Creek Friday: anchor, as you have indicated -- we will arrange for a tender to pick you up; tie up at Bill Westbrook's dock (in front of the large white home facing the entrance to Carters Creek) and walk to Rappahannock River Yacht Club nearby; use a mooring buoy in front of RRYC if not already taken. Remember to be there Friday in time for the 4:00 pm starburst flyover photo with cookout afterwards.

Looking forward to meeting you and helping any way I can. It's going to be a fun weekend with, weather permitting, great racing.

This sounds like just too much fun. I sure wish I could be there! Please post the starburst pic for all to see.

Ned,
We will be sailing over--all of the way from Myer Creek--in STARVIEW (CD36) to witness what should the premier sailing event of the year. I want to encourage other, larger, Cape Dorys to show their support. STARVIEW will be flying both the CDSOA and the RRYC burgees. Look for us.

OOPS!!! I misunderstood. Thought you were a Ty sailor. Will be looking for STARVIEW. Most of the Ty sailors in our fleet (many if whom you probably know) have, at one time, cruised on larger boats -- mine was a '78 Pearson 35 that we enjoyed sailing the Bay until I realized it was time to "upsize" to a Ty and haven't looked back! We are having a blast in our senior years!
