Does anyone know where I might purchase screens to fit the portholes on my Cape Dory 25? Any info would be appreciated, thanks!

Spartan (See suppliers list on main web site page) still sells them for the CD portlights.

In lieu of purchasing new screens you can make them yourself. Make a pattern of portholes using cardboard. Purchase 1/8" plexiglass or acrylic plastic window material from the hardware store. Cut the plastic sheet into rectangles of approximate dimensions, then glue approximately four of the pieces together using a dab or two of clear PVC glue located in the center. (the number of pieces you can glue together depends on the depth your router bit will cut). Using your cardboard pattern, cut the plastic pieces to shape with a router (use an 1/8" diameter bit)four at a time. Then using a guide cut out the inside leaving 1/2" wide frame. An 1/8" diameter router bit or smaller is absolutely necessary to get a good cut. Lay out one side of the plastic frames and stretch nylon screen over the frame. Do not pull the screen tight, just straight. Then apply glue (PVC clear glue) through the screen and onto the frame. Also apply glue to the other side/half of the frame and lay this piece on top sandwiching the screen. Lay something heavy on top to compress the assembly. When dry trim the excess screen. Use a belt sander for final fit at the boat. Hold the screens in place by running a thin bead of silicone at top and bottom. ( this also helps keep water from dipping in when the port is opened). For $20 you can make them all.
