Now that we have a year to forget, anybody want to fess up to which posts were April one-ish, and which you suspect. I'll admit, I think I was suckered. (not saying which thread, yet)

Once caught, twice shy ...

Post by John Vigor »

I confess I was suckered by Mitch Bober's post about replacing his teak toe rails with slotted aluminum.

What a wicked thing to do, to try to fool us trusting readers. Okay, I know April Fool's Day is supposed to be fun, but there are surely limits beyond which a decent person would not go.

I shall read Mr. Bober's posts with a great deal of cynical circumspection from now on, lacking as they may well be in moral rectitude. Once caught, twice shy.

JV's confession

I actually started picturing altered toerails or bulwarks, and given my propensity for trying things out, I didn't pick up on the jest until someone pointed it out. However, 4-1 notwithstanding, Mitch did go a bolt too far.
It was WaywardWind's dodger on the boom and bimini issue that got me. I finally decided I was being had, but . . .
