Transom Plate for a CD 10'

Post by Capt Gary »

I need to order a new one for my CD 10'. Does anyone know the product number to use when ordering from Bristol Bronze?

Can they also stamp it with the orginal hull # if I give it to them?

Thanks

Looks like BB1801

It's listed in the price list under builder plates page 2 of the
document link below.

They did stamp the hull number for our CD36 plate, I don't
remember if they charged extra for it. You might consider
having it engraved locally.

The originals are engraved on a sheet of brass. A bronze plate might be nice but not original and definitely pricey. I would second using a local engraver, Steve.

One more thought would be to make a rubbing of an original plate. You could then take this to the engraver and get it as close to original as possible. Just make sure he doesn't use the wrong number, Steve.

I would opt for the BB plate for your CD10. I did on mine. They are so beautiful and a nice touch on your transom. Sure, they're pricey. But you rarely regret spending for the best on your boat. You usually regret going cheap! :D

We got one for Sandpiper.

In the grand scheme of sailboat expenses, this certainly was not a major one and it looks great.
