Thanks for the tip, I just emailed him.
Nice find! He says he has other models of Cape Dorys.

Don't want to rain on anyone's parade, but I have just compared the underwater profile of this model with Alberg's drawing and the keel just doesn't look quite right.

You can judge for yourself by going to the Sailplan drawing of the CD27 on this site.

Cheers,

"We don't ship"

Post by Duncan »

Added to John's caveat, I just got a very unhelpful response to my enquiry - three words - "we don't ship".

I offered a local shipping address, and I'm certainly not going to go to RI to pick this up. So, based on this and a couple of other oddities, I'll pass it up.

Thanks, John.

Looks familiar

Randy,

I think we profiled Todd Dunn in the now defunct "Offshore" magazine a number of years ago.

Anyway, his name and website look familiar. I'm glad you're satisfied with his work.

Todd is quite the craftsman/modeler...

He'll make you an R/C model of your CD if you'd like

I contacted this seller as well and after sending me some odd, unhelpful e-mails, refusing to ship and sending me pictures of a hull that was clearly not a CD, I passed on the offer. After doing so, the seller sent me a very odd and nasty message. I would say buyer beware on these.
