water lock for CD25D

Post by cjrs472 »

Hi:
Does anyone knows about the specifications for the VernaLift muffler (water lock) that the CD25D uses. I have a 1983 CD25D and want to replace its waterlock.

Thanks

I have an 83 CD25D with a Vernalift that is side in and top out. Wet exhaust hose size is 1 7/8 inches on the inside diameter.

You may also want to take look at Vetus. They have different sizes and the intake and exhaust fittings are adjustable. Make sure you size the mufflers capacity to the volume of water that could potentially be in the exhaust hose.

Vetus

I recently replaced the muffler in my 28 (md7a) with the Vetus NLP Waterlock Muffler.

I used the NLP 40 - which has 1-9/16" in/out.

I can tell you this - it was the EASIEST muffler change out I have EVER done (I have done about 4). And we all know nothing is easy when it comes to working behind the engine in a 28. You can not put a price on the ability to adjust the positioning of the in/out.

I also used the Vetus Wet Exhaust hose that I found much easier to work with.

Vetus has a good name - but of course you pay a little more. However - I feel the extra cost was easily offset by the time I saved on the installation.

And just an FYI - it works beautifully. Very quiet.
