Hi Tom,

Are you replacing exsisting hand rails? or is this new installation? The loop length on my CD28 (1983) is 17" on center. I searched BoatUS, West, JSI, et al and found that everything made today has loops 10" on center. So I re-finished my hand rails and re-installed them. I hope to get another 10~15 years of use out of them. You may want to consider making your hand rails. See 'This Old Boat' by Don Casey, he has detailed instructions on making hand rails.
