Kerry Deare Summer Cruise Plans 2010
This summer we are hoping to make some serious easting. We plan to depart New Jersey mid-June for the Boston area via Block Island, Buzzard's, and the Cape Cod Canal. In early July we hope to return once again to Nova Scotia, and this time we would like to extend our reach and try for the Newfoundland South Coast. I hesitate to put these ideas in writing because I really do believe one can jinx this sort of thing, but anyway ...
I hope we will encounter a few Cape Dory people along the way. Please don't hesitate if you see the Kerry Deare. Come alongside for a chat and some refreshment.

In case you missed the 6/25 blog entry
A new friend, Neil, arrived at the Hull YC from his home in Brookline MA and joined me for a daysail among the Boston Harbor Islands. Although I have sailed past the entrance to Boston Harbor many times, I have never before stopped in to explore. I now wonder why it took so long to realize what I'd been missing.
Neil is a local sailor with a comprehensive knowledge of the Harbor Islands. He's also owned a sistership to Kerry Deare for 15 years, so stepping aboard my boat required no orientation. The weather really cooperated and we were able to complete a splendid 22 NM tour of the Boston Harbor Islands, ending the trip by picking up our mooring under sail in Hull Bay.
Along the way Neil and I combined our highly developed sailing abilities and massive accumulation of sailing experience to demonstrate the superiority of the Cape Dory 28 over any other yacht. Of course we hardly needed a reminder that this is the case.

Kerry Deare 2010: Nova Scotia Update
Philip and Sharon on CD 36 Evergreen arrived in Shelburne Tuesday last, and we enjoyed the "mini-rendezvous" we'd been planning for a while. They departed yesterday AM (Saturday) heading east bound for Canso. We leave this morning in the same direction, hoping to meet up in Canso NS enroute to (we hope) Newfoundland.

Enjoying it...
Hi Armond,
I've been enjoying your cruise reports. One of these years we plan on making a similar journey to Canada.
