I edited together some footage I shot with Henry Hey during our recent cruise to Martha's Vineyard, as well as some views closer to home. The music is from Maurice Ravel's music to the ballet Daphnis et Choe. I've always loved playing it at the Philharmonic and felt it would be perfect sailing music: mysterious, sensual and powerful.
OMG beautiful........yuz music guys ........Trump the visual...

The Artist is not born to a life of pleasure.
He must not live idle;
he has hard work to perform,
and one which often proves a cross to be borne.
He must realize that his every deed, feeling, and thought
are raw but sure material from which his work is to arise,
That he is free in Art but not in life.
btw...we've been enjoying sailing the former Mary Ellen CD25 around the middle Chesapeake Bay. Over the week preceding the 4th we spent 6 nights on it, all 4 of us! Although we probably need something larger, she is a wonderful boat and a joy to sail.
Ain't it just the best!! The guys had a blast.... and I was fortunate enough to sail (well...motor) along side them for an hour or so on their first day headed east out of City Island when they reached Oyster Bay. Marvelous sailors...the both of them!!
Very nice video and music with excellent camera work, especially the shots off the port bow showing S/V Delphine with a small "bone in her tooth". I am assuming the use of a small video camera attached to a pole.

Seahunt,
I think Henry just hung by his toes up there. I don't know, I was too busy at the helm. He did seem to disappear for a minute, but he didn't get swept by off the lee quarter so I didn't worry about him.
Frank, my boat is so old-fashioned now compared to the running shoe Beneteaux and monster cats that I see all over these days that I feel entirely comfortable claiming kinship with the Cape Dory crowd.
Hope y'all enjoy the better resolution of this version.
