The paint Cape Dory used inside the cockpit lockers is? Beige, Tan, whatever---has anyone gone looking for a match? What did you find? Thanks Chris

Try Grand Banks Beige

I believe that Interlux version of Grand Banks Beige is pretty close. If you can get to a West Marine and pick up one of the Interlux paint chip carts you should be able to comapare it with whats inside your locker.

The factory paint was made by a company in mass. It is no longer available. The best match is to go to a paint store and have them custom mix the color. Any high quality oil based exterior paint should work well.

I think the best match you will find is Pettit "Sandstone" Easy-Poxy. Its a high gloss paint and will go on easy with a brush. I just used it to touch up the nonskid deck, I used a flatting agent to tone down the gloss.

Just finished painting my sail lockers for 2nd time in 15 years. Mine is a CD26 with sort of matching color between the non-skid and under-hatch/sail locker color. Used Spar Miracote #922 "Grand Banks Beige" which is more of a tan which matches the orginal non-skid and sail locker color better than anything I have found. This "Grand Banks" color is sort of unique that it is unlike other manufacturers under the same name (Interlux, etc......has what I call less slight tint of "purple" in it I know that sounds strange but you have to actually see the difference on the boat to see what I mean...It is a gloss and appears to be quite resistant to marking...
