Was it ever in vogue to fix Typhoon spreaders to mounting sockets
on the spreader tangs using epoxy, and eliminating the clevis/cotter pin to secure?
If so, what was the wisdom behind this, other than the obvious (?)
fixing them so that they won't move?
Thanks,
Jim

I don't think I would recommend epoxy to affix the spreaders to the sockets.
First, if you ever had a reason to remove a spreader, or a socket, you can't access the bolt that holds the sockets to the mast.
Second, have you seen the prices on those sockets? Ouch! Or the spreader, for that matter. One of my spreaders was fused to the socket, and I had to buy both a socket and a spreader. That was a shock to the wallet.
My question is, why would you want to epoxy them together? Is there a benefit?

Instant Bubble-head. Just add water.
