I'm not in a position to buy, but I'm very interested in receiving photos of your boat. I am converting a rowing version of the CD10 to sail, and some of your pictures would help me construct and locate the centerboard trunk. Thanks.
While wanting to be respectful of "pbarret2" I believe I would urge caution with respect to this Cape Dory 10.
The eBay website s/he references has 10-12 photos of this sailboat. One of the photos shows the transom with what is depicted as the "hull number". It appears to be "etched in" not stamped in. The etching does not appear to be of the quality one would expect from either Cape Dory or Robinhood Marine.
It is certainly possible that the actual "stamped in" hull number was covered over during various paintings and a PO "etched in " the number.
However, as an unbiased observer, I would urge caution to anyone thinking of buying a CD 10.
I think the post by Sea Hunt is incredibly unfair. I purchased this Cape Dory 10 from William Goldsmith from Croton-on-Hudson, NY in May 2003. I have had it registered in MI every year since them. William did the transom repair himself and he etched in the number as the original number was covered over during the repair. The boat also has the original brass plate on the rear seat that shows the Hull #2335 and the Robinhood Marine stamp. I have paperwork that supports all my claims.
This is a great boat and would make any owner happy.

Thank you! I've scavenged various photos online as I've come across them, but those you have listed on Ebay provide some shots that could be especially helpful. I will send you my email via PM (Private Message) here on the board. Thanks.

Hello Pbarret2:
I sincerely apologize. It was not my intent to offend or be unfair. As my post clearly stated it was (is) certainly possible that someone "etched in" the hull numbers that were covered over. I was only urging caution.
I hope you will accept my apology. It is sincere. I wish you well in your efforts to sell your CD 10.
