Non-skid paint color

I am having my non-skid painted with Interlux Bristol Beige. It has a pinkish tone as compared to the old paint and I really do not like it. I am very disappointed in the color. Does anyone know where to get the original color on the non-skid?

Take a look at Grand Banks Beige. I think it's closer color wise, but I had to lighten it a little (by adding White) to match the present sun faded color. Without lightening it was also too hot underfoot on sunny days.

I believe the original non-skid of most or all older CDs was actually gelcoat (not paint) with a non-skid pattern laid in. I put down new non-skid decks two years ago using CCP 953 series gelcoat (cloor: NE68 "Beige") with Interlux non-skid material mixed in. The color is very close to original. I prefer the gelcopat route on a deck vs. single or two-part polyurethane paints. If you are going to use paint, I'm sure you could find something with less pink and closer to the original. The attached picture isn't gret, but might give you an idea as the results. Let me know if I can be of furher help.

What was your way for the painting of the non-skid with the gelcoat.

Did you spray or roll the gelcoat
And did you used the gelcoat alone or did you add some "patch aid" or something similar.

I'm doing my deck with gelcoat too.

I sprayed mine. I'd have to check the nozzle size, but it was pretty big since it was sprayed with non-skid material mixed in. I didn't add any patch-aid. The old gelcot/non-skid was sanded off before spraying. The only additives (besides the non-skid sand) were a small amount of wax solution which is necesary for proper cure (gelcoat cures in the absence of air), and MEKP for the catalyst. Some gelcoats have the wax already added. Pot life can be pretty short if you add to much MEKP catalyst. I have rolled it in small places in the past and it comes out OK, but spraying will give better results (although it does take a while to mask evrything prior to spraying.) I got this tip on here somewhere..I mixed a can of the beige and a can of white....I dont have a pink hew...you might check the archives....craig

Petit Easypoxy in Sandstone is a really nice looking beige color right out of the can.

Thank you all for the replies. Jeff your boat is absolutely beautiful. I hope to be able to have someone spray gelcoat on Saga in a year or 2. Right now, I am in the process of selling my house and I am fleet captain for our little club--so, I dont want to take the boat out of commission and I just dont have time to oversee such a project.

I am going to stop the painting and try to get the petit sandstone. I looks like the best for what I am doing right now.

Markst95 - Did you use the Easypoxy as it came in the can, or did you add the Satin Additive to flatten the gloss? Also, did you use any primer? - I will be painting over the original beige deck paint 1979 vintage. Thanks.

I did use a primer. I added non skid to the paint which gave it an somewhat flat appearance. For the white areas I used Semi Gloss.
