Lake Michigan Sailors Rendezvous

We're making an attempt to schedule a rendezvous at some point this summer for Lake Michigan sailors.

Hi Dave,

Just wondering....are you creating a Cape Dory owners association on Lake Michigan in addition to the Lake Michigan Cape Dory Owners Assn. (LMCDOA) and not associated with the Cape Dory Sailboat Owners Assn. (CDSOA, Inc.) Great Lakes Fleet either? I'm a little confused. Anyway, I hope you have a good turnout for your event.

No, no new association. I'm just doing what I can to generate a little CD enthusiasm here on Lake Michigan. We'll see where it leads.

Okay. We have a plan. I hope it works for everybody.

How about if we plan to meet at St. James Harbor, Beaver Island, Michigan between Monday August 2 and Friday August 6?

Ariel will be anchored in the harbor during that time. If you can sail in, join us at anchor or at one of the two marinas in the harbor. If you can't sail in but you would like to meet up with fellow CD'ers, take the ferry over from Charlevoix. You can find accommodations on the island - http://www.beaverisland.org/accommodations/index.html - or maybe with a CD'er who sailed over. (Suggest making arrangements ahead of time!)

We can yarn, tour the island, check out each others' boats, eat, drink - just hang out and have a good time together. Come for part or all of the five days.
