I have a question regarding the shrouds. I am in the process of replacing the boats shrouds and I took them to Sound Rigging in Essex, CT, a reputable firm. They explained to me that the upper shrouds are different lengths. The length recommended by the Typhoon manual is 21' 2". One of the shrouds is 20'11 1/8" . The other is 21' 1 5/8" which is close enough to the recommended length. Also, the manual recommends lowers that are 11'5" in length and the boats shrouds are 11' 2". Last year when I sailed the boat, i did not notice any problems with the mast, it appeared to be straight. I did not have any problems stepping the mast. Also, does anyone happen to know the correct measurement for the mast support bar under the cabin deck?Thanks for any comments on this matter.

I've never heard of a reason for the stays to be different lengths. Are there different sized turnbuckles on each side? If the cabintop has sagged some the previous owner could have used shorter stays to make up the difference. If you search the older posts you should be able to find the measurement of the floor to ceiling height which will give you an estimate to see if you have any cabin sag. The mast bar or compression post is an owner added feature designed to stop the cabin from sagging due to rigging the shrouds and stays too tight.
