How do I remove the yellow waterline stain (pretty bad one)
I'm looking to get rid of my yellow stain at the waterline of my newly purchased Typhoon, the stain is under the transon, maybe from the outboard? It's pretty bad I need HELP! Thanks.

Hi Roland,
I have used a product called (On & OFF) it's made by Mary Kate products. It can be found in both Boat/US and West Marine. It does a great job just follow the directions. Strong stuff but the label says it's biodegradable!
Good luck

When working at The River Forest Marina and Shipyard in Belhaven, N.C. we used Wink, you can buy it at Food Lion. Just squirt it on, wait a couple of minutes, wipe off and rinse.Roland Huberdault wrote: I'm looking to get rid of my yellow stain at the waterline of my newly purchased Typhoon, the stain is under the transon, maybe from the outboard? Roland,
You can find a product called Y-10 in most boating stores. It will take stains out that moderate compounding won't. It is a jelly that you wipe on and let sit for a few minutes. Just watch the stains disappear.

While working in a boatyard last season, an old boat repair guy let me in on a few tips. I found muriatic acid the strongest stuff to remove stains. Sponge it on, let it bubble up and hose it off. Repeat if needed. Don't breathe or get it on you! If you want a greener alternative, try lemon juice in the same fashion. I used these two on many boats last year and didn't spend much money.
Good Luck, I have a Typhoon as well.

I had the same problem on Allia. I used Rubbing Compound from West Marine a few weeks ago and it came off without much trouble at all. I used a varriable-speed drill with a buffing pad, but I think I could have gotten the yellow out even without the electric help.

Works great and it's cheap

We sail on the St. Johns in NEFlorida. It's brown forever from tannin coming out of the orange groves down south. Next time you run to the store for limes for your rum and coke, get a bag of lemons and rub a slice of fresh lemon over the stains. Drink some of your rum and coke, then do it again and rinse...........Roland Huberdault wrote: I'm looking to get rid of my yellow stain at the waterline of my newly purchased Typhoon, the stain is under the transon, maybe from the outboard?
