Looking for CD28

Post by davidn »

I'm hoping to find a CD 28 that doesn't need a huge amount of work. My wife and I built our house some years ago, but that may have exhausted our energies for big projects.

Thanks, John. It would be nice to be looking in Florida.

Sojourner is for sale - Baltimore, MD

Post by oldragbaggers »

We have a beautiful 28 that we would like to sell. Hull number 330, 1982. Photos at http://photos.sojournerlog.com/ . We love the boat and have put a lot of work into her, but just don't have the time to enjoy her. She has new interior cushions, a new holding tank and hoses, a rebuilt head, all interior wood bright, exterior wood in nice shape with fresh cetol, sails and sailcovers cleaned and repaired last year, we took off the roller furling and reinstalled the club footed jib, as well as a new forestay.

When we had it surveyed after completing most of our work in 2008, the present value was listed at $28K. (Copy of the survey available). We can talk price, but we would like to start the discussion at around $23K.

The only project that we started that is not completed... I removed all the hull battens inside to sand and varnish. They are only about 1/2 complete. The unfinished ones are in my garage, all there and intact, just need the sanding and varnishing finished. Also took off the doors to the head to sand and varnish, those need to be completed, or at least reinstalled, also. Really very simple projects.

We have sailed her the past 2 summers and she is a joy.
If you are interested, let us know.

If we are able to sell, we will be in the market for a Typhoon. We will be looking for one in good condition, with a trailer would be nice but not essential.

Thanks for your reply. Sojourner is very beautiful. We're in Maine, and searching close to home, at least for starters. If we get to Baltimore, we would love to see her. If we come across a Typhoon, we'll let you know.

Best regards,
Ann Normann
