It's come time to call it a day.I'm 72yrs old and am finding it hard to handel my Typhoon any more on Lake Michagain just cant move the way I use to,so after almost 30yrs I need to sell her.
I need some help on pricing her,I have seen all kinds of prices on the board in many years and dont know where to start.
1978 (one owner),fresh water only, lots of bronze and teak added,
Sparten trailer( made for her)3 salils,WM 8'dinghy,and all equp.
Please take a look,if it dosnt come up just cut and paste the sight.
Thanks guys for any help.

I know you have sailed her about 30 years and I may be all wrong (I usually am ), however, from the photos, "your baby" looks like a Typhoon Weekender, not the Daysailor, as your "Avatar" (OJ, my geek friend, is that the right term ) says. The enclosed cabin and portals port and starboard are unique to a Weekender - I think.
You should be able to get an idea of what she's worth from BUCnet. Go to www.bucnet.com. If you're not a member of BUCnet, you'll have to join -- it's FREE. Then you can login and select "BUCValu". The age and condition of the boat are big factors in determining price. As far as a daysailer is concerned (your Weekender is a daysailer), whether it will be sold with an outboard and/or a trailer makes a difference in pricing as well. The other equipment that will be included in the sale effects price too.
CLICK HERE to see a bunch of Weekenders which are listed on YachtWorld.com. It may help to give you a place to start. (Be sure to read the full specs and equipments lists for each boat so that you'll have a better idea of why they are priced the way they're priced.)

Did S/V Midget come from the Cape Dory factory with the stanchions, lifelines, stern pulpit, etc. or did you add those later
I have been thinking of installing a bow & stern pulpit and possibly stanchions but have been hard pressed to figure out how I would gain access to certain areas where I would need to install some substantial back plates.
Hi,I did them myself with the help of a boat builder friend and yes it was very tight in there but not impassable. It took about 2 days
but are strong to this day the best thing I ever did for her and have saved me many a day from going overboard.
I'm not sure on the smaller CD's but on the CD25 & 30 there is a flange that is part of the hull/deck joint along both sides and stern 2-3 inches wide and +- 1/2" thick. This is fairly robust, solid resin and roving. On both my CD's the stanchions were bolted thru this area with backing plates. The plates are 3/16 aluminum, 1"x4".
Both pulpits, on both vessels, were very solidly SCREWED into this material. During restoration I did change the screws out to bolts with heavy fender washers and nylocs. That was for my piece of mind, they were never loose.
Access is another story. A fair amount of contortion and even tool modification may be required.......but it can be done.......with patience and persistence.

After spending a year repairing deck core rot it scares me to even think of drilling the dozens of holes in the deck needed to install lifelines, railings.

Hi Dale,
I just changed the link from the one for the photo album to the the one for the slideshow for the photo album and embedded it within your posting. The photo of your house is in the album, so folks will see it either way. Here's the link for just the album:
