Spinnaker on a Typhoon Weekender

Post by Jimmy »

I have a Typhoon Weekender, It is not equipped for a spinnaker. Did Weekenders come from the factory with spinnakers? Were they fractional or masthead. Were the halyard run inside or outside. I want my spinnaker halyard run inside the mast. If it mounts above the forestay on a fractional rig , how far above. I would like it to exit below the boom on the backside. I want it to work like a Melges 24 does.

My last Ty came with a spinnaker. The halyard was external on a block just above the forestay. Later, I rigged a block at the top of the mast and designed a my own reacher/drifter for Babette, as seen below. The photo was shot from a Mirage 29 that we were passing in a race! ;-)
