My Very New Crew
This from my son and daughter-in-law, which I want to share with my Cape Dory friends and family, as well:
Hello friends and family!
We are happy to announce the birth of our daughter, Galit Libby, born Thursday, November 5 at 5:42 PM. 8 lbs, 8 oz. 21 inches long. Happy and healthy. Her beautiful mom is doing great and was a real hero throughout.
With love an appreciation to everyone for their support and wishes,

Life Begins:
Hi Neil,
With 7 grand children, I can confidently state that:
Life Begins when you become a grand parent.
The happiest days of your life are about to begin.
BTW, when do you plan to start crew training?
Best,
Dick

Neil,
Congratulations!! Its amazing what effect grandchildren have on you. The ONLY thing that could make me give up sailing on a sunny 12 knot breeze day during the summer is a chance to visit with my granddaughter!!! I never thought that could ever be possible. Welcome to the club!!!

Hi Neil,
She is very beautiful. How soon before she's sailing on Liquidity and participating in the Regatta? Congratulations Grandpa!

Re: Congratulations!
Don't worry, Dick. Your crew position for the Regatta is safe.Dick Barthel wrote:How soon before she's sailing on Liquidity and participating in the Regatta?
Perhaps I could assign Galit the task of locking/unlocking the prop. (Now that I've mentioned it, wondering if prop locking/unlocking gives the same results when beating vs. running.)

Grandchildren do make the very best sailing companions
Neil,
You can just sit back and relax as your 3rd generation takes over. We were all (mostly) to busy working to enjoy our own children to the fullest, but our grandchildern and your Galit Libby, well the future is now. Enjoy.

She is very Beautiful
I wish you and your children long and healthy life to enjoy the new born.
She has a beautiful name.
Galit was a name of a sailboat design, very popular in Israel at the 70th. Much like the sunfish here in the US. First time I took my wife, than my girlfriend, to sail was on a Galit in the beautiful bay of Sharm El Sheikh (Red Sea). To have more fun I flipped the boat.
What a mistake?
Now I sail, most of the time, with friends.
