It's now a week away and the current weather forecast, depending on which weatherman you prefer to believe, is calling for rain on either Saturday or Sunday, the weekend of our float-in at Atlantic Highlands, NJ. It's still too far into the future for an accurate weather forecast, but if it's gonna rain, would any of you be interested in setting a rain date? The following weekend (Oct. 10th) maybe?
Fair winds,
Cathy

Cathy, has the proposed Oct 3rd date already been cancelled?
Nope, I'm just trying to get a feel for when would be a good rain date if it does get cancelled. So far the October 3rd date is still on, we just have to keep a watch on the weather.

This morning (Wednesday 30 Sep) the outlook does not appear improved. In fact the coastal forecast is if anything less inviting. Cathy, does the event look likely for 03 Oct in your view?
Nope. The forecast is just getting worse and worse. I think we should cancel rather than rescheduling. Some folks are heading down to Annapolis, others are having their boats hauled and others just can't make the other dates. Maybe we can schedule a get-together luncheon or dinner somewhere along the NJ shore sometime. Any ideas? Or is this a bad idea.
I'm looking into setting up a luncheon to take place some time during the next few weeks -- sort of an end-of-season get together I guess. I was originally going to do this just for the float-in participants to make up for the cancellation but realized that others may want to attend a luncheon. I don't have a date yet, or a place, but am looking into some possibilities in Keyport, NJ. I should be able to tell you more in a few days.
