Help with posting a video.

Post by Zeida »

Don't know if this will work or not, but I tried posting a video on YouTube. the link below may or may not get you to it. Would appreciate if anyone can give me a "radio check" on it, if this takes you to it.

How do you get these videos on the Cape Dory group youtube site?
Much appreciated.

Bando Video

Post by Zeida »

We came in 17th. in our cruising class. There were 37 boats. You can see some of them BEHIND us :D
This is a very casual regatta, more leisure fun type for us. The real serious guys are the first ones to start, 40ft. and over, all racing boats and crews. They do get competitive.

A Few More BC Photos

Cathy & Kelle, thanks for your kind words, though they are probably undeserved. If you spend 10 weeks sailing in an area this scenic, it's not hard to produce a dozen good pictures! Here are few more of some interest.

Here is another NW Cape Dory picture. This was taken with Waterman Point (west end of Rich Passage) in the background by some unknown person who keeps their boat in our marina. We came down to the boat one day to find four large prints tucked under our dodger of our CD 330 Sweet Chance enjoying an afternoon sail. If we had known we were being photographed we might have put the rail a little further down.

Great video! I think that's the first time I've ever seen a "racing boat" with an air conditioner.

For the Cape Dory group on YouTube, go to:
http://www.youtube.com/group/CapeDory
Then you'll need to join the group. Right above the video on that page you should see a line containing the following objects:

Cape Dory | Join | Top Rated | Recent | Topics.............................Submit a video

Click on Join. John Ring will then get an email from YouTube alerting him of your wanting to join the group. Once he allows you to join, you'll be able to add your videos to the group.

CD VIDEO Groups

Post by Zeida »

Thank you Cathy. I did it and was able to open my video on the CD group. Yay!

BTW... our cruising class not only carry A/C's, but we can tow our dinghies as well, carry LOTS of grog and food ... regulations are not that stricy. After the finish line, the entire fleet, sometimes over 200 boats, linger on in what becomes a floating city of flickering lights. We all anchor in the cove to spend the night - not many sleep - it is a major water party... and come 8 am next day, everyone sails (race) back.

Many boats raft up... food and drinks overflow... dogs are taken to shore, we all visit each other boats, so it is lots of fun. I did not have our dinghy with us this time, since the boat on the slip next to us was taking his and I could use it to take Patty ashore as needed. Now that I know how to do a video, I need to get a better camera!

Hi Bob,

Yep, they're Schaefer's. This was our first full season with those two new furlers, and we love'em. We love the two new headsails too.
