Rigging help

Post by alsaleen »

i am near completion on my typhoon weekender restoration i am ready to get the mast in....BUT i need to get a fore stay as well as my uppers can any one send me pictures of the turn buckles and how they all mount to the boat... including fore stay. thanks i wasnt able to find any diagrams and the hardware was completely missing when i purchased her. shes almost done, unfortunately the winter is coming fast so she will be cleaned up and put in storage until next spring. that way i can run wiring for the new speakers, and possibly some underwater lights!!

Hi alsaleen,

I don't know if this will help or not but there are drawings of the spar/shrouds/turnbuckles for the Typhoon in the owners manual - CLICK HERE. You'll find them on page 76, Section 5.23.

You can get to the owners manuals on our web site by going to our home page at www.capedory.org. Once there, using your mouse pointer, select 'Where to Look', 'Groups & Publications', 'Online Manuals & Brochcures', then 'CD Owners Manuals' from the menu on the left side of the page. Once that page comes up, select the appropriate manual.

I chose this one for alsaleen:
1981 manual for Typhoon, Typhoon Weekender, CD-22D, CD-25D, 27, 28, 30, and 30K (PDF, 6.65 MB) -- provided by Ed Rant.

The diagram is on page 76, Section 5.23. Make sure you're looking at the 1981 manual. Use the link in my previous posting.

Anyway, with any luck another Typhoon owner will step in with some help.

alsaleen,

I purchased new standing rigging for my last Typhoon at Rigging Only and was very pleased with their work. Hope this helps.
