Plugging old (unused) holes in mast

Post by Dan VanWinkle »

The mast on my 25D has accumlated several holes at head and foot as owners have added wiring, etc. Probably can't restore structural integrity and strength without some welding or something. Is there a way or prodcut to plug these to keep water out and improve the looks? I'm going to check the local hardware store for plastic caps or plugs. dvw Bali Ha'i #69

I patched the holes in my mast/boom with Liquid Aluminum Solder. Don't remember where I purchased it, maybe at a boat store or hardware store?
