Has anyone replaced the stuffing box on a CD 28 Power Boat with the
PSS Shaft Seal? What are the pro's and con's and lessons learned?
Any tips or suggestions???? We have the 1 1/4" shaft with top and bottom shaft bearings and need to replace them also. Any help??

Re: pss shaft seals
Just replaced the stuffing box with a PSS shaft seal-after I was told that just could not be done, as the Cape Dory 28 (sail) just has no room to work with!
Found a great boat yard and a great mechanic-and-replaced the original stuffing box, drive shaft, cutless bearing, etc. in less than a day!
It can be done-and it was worth every penny not to take my old bones into a hole made for midget to inspect the stuffing box after every trip!
