As an added attraction, my boat has been installed with a glow plug for starting an Volvo MD7A. Anyone else got this goodie! How do you use it-and-where is it on the engine so that it can be inspected and replaced?!!?
Thanks in advance!

Glow Plug on a MD7A

Re: Glow Plug on a MD7A -huh??
You have a glowplug attached to your MD7A? It had to be an aftermarket addition. I have heard of them being applied to the air intake horn, so that the air the engine sucks in is warmed, but this is not very effective, and a huge power drain too. I wonder how they installed the glow plug? Let us know when you find out please.
As a side note, a properly tuned MD7A should not require a glow plug. This engine, again..when tuned right, will start on the first compression stroke, in below freezing temps..mine did this past weekend in fact. However, it never used to be able to start that quickly until I rebuilt the engine, and had the timing retarded a little bit for easier starting.
