YSM8 Mixing Elbow

Cracked mixing elbow on my Yanmar 8 hp YSM8 - CD 27. Anyone know where to find replacement - New or used???

Just had the mixing elbow replaced on my 1980 CD27 YSM8 also. My yard took care of it so I don't know where they got it. I'm on the east coast NYC area. You might try Mack Boring in Union New Jersey. Just google them and I'm sure you can find the contact info for their parts department.

When the mixing elbow rusted through on my Universal engine I started looking for a new one through the Universal parts catalog. I was having a very hard time finding one and it just didn't seem like it should be that difficult. The yard mechanic happened to walk in and he said they should have them right on the shelf. He walked back grabbed one and handed it to me! It turns out they are not really engine specific. The rest of the piping is just black iron from any plumbing supply. Get all new stuff, it's cheap. Don't forget anti seize when you put the bolts back in the engine. Once I found the elbow it wasn't a very difficult job, Steve.

Precision Marine in New Rochelle, NY, replaced mine (YSB 8) a couple of years ago. I don't remember mention of any difficulty in getting th parts. They normally order their Yanmar parts from Mack Boring in NJ.

When KAYLA's original muffler (custom stainless-steel unit) finally gave way, I replaced is with a fiberglass unit, a Yanmar mixing elbow, at tall unit with a 170 or so degree bend and basic black iron pipe. It fit great and works better than the original - it's taller and less prone to back flow.

While this was for a Volvo MD7A, I would expect that you could configure it for most any engine.
