Two quick questions:
1) I want to self install Furlex jib furling on by CD-28. Anybody out there already done this? Any tips?
2) How do I stop the water coming down my hawse hole every time it rains? The circular bronze plate certainly doesn't do the job to my
satisfaction.
Thanks!

Roller furling+Hawse hole leak

Re: Roller furling+Hawse hole leak
I have a CD28 as well but have not seen the leaking problem. Water must be running down bowsprit and under plate. What if you put a bead of silicone caulk around the hole and let harden with bronze plat off, then plate sits on top of this "lip". If it doesn't work or looks bad it can be rubbed off easilyCraig Scott wrote: Two quick questions:

Re: Roller furling+Hawse hole leak
Craig,
Water may be following the chain down the hawsepipe. Make sure your chain is travelling uphill before it enters the pipe. In other words, the chain should travel past the hawsepipe, turnaround and come back to it. Make sure the anchor is secured to the roller fitting -- use the hole for the trip line or use a chainstopper. Another trick is to turn the hawse pipe cap around. If you still get water in there, maybe the hawsepipe needs to be rebedded.

Re: Roller furling+Hawse hole leak
Craig -- last summer I installed a Furlex unit on my 30 --quite the same, I think. It came complete, and the instructions were very good. It took about half a day to get it up and running. I am very pleased with it.Craig Scott wrote: Two quick questions:
