Starting the Volvo Penta

Hi,

This will be my first season with a CD 33, and I have no experience with deisel engines. The book I have refers to powerboat controls and is pretty much useless. Can anyone tell me the procedure? How do I heat up the glow plugs? For how long? Do I give it throttle while I start it? What else must I be aware of?

Just launched my 28-and have the same questions~! Found out that we may be the lucky ones with glow plugs! Many of the Volvo engines do not have one!

I have, found, that, using the switch for about 30 seconds on the glow plug sure helps in firing up the monster-but would love any suggestions on this engine!!
