Cabin teak - what to use after sanding?

Post by Tom »

I have just removed and resanded any of the interior teak on my boat.
Now that it is ready to receive a finish, I'm not really sure what is the best finish to use on this interior teak. Any suggestions or hints would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
tom

I am refinishing the cabin on my CD30MK II. I have removed every thing I can and am using Interlux Hand Rubbed Effect Satin Varnish. The results are great! You will need 4 coats. The fixed items that I could not remove will be cleaned/brightened with TE-KA, sanded (80 grit), vacummed, wiped down with two tack cloths and varnished. Sanding with 220 grit sandpaper is normally required between the 2nd and 3rd coats. Good luck!
