teak oil for interior
My interior teak veneer needs some attention. Does anyone use a particular brand of teak oil they would recommend? Any to avoid?
Thanks,

Re: teak oil for interior
I use DEKS OLJE matte finish it's not as thick as regular teak oil. It goes on very easy with a foam brush and lasts longer than oil. It will slightly darken the wood but it gives it a nice tone. If the wood is very dry you may need a couple of coats to start with. There is also a gloss finish, if thats the look you want. But I think that may be harder to maintain.

I use Lemmon oil on my interior teak (and pseudo teak) on my CD25. It's inexpensive and easy to apply one or twice a season.

Does anyone know the original finish?
I read, somewhere, what Cape Dory used on the interior teak. Naturally, it has slipped my mind. If someone posts it here, I will write it down.
Re: teak oil for interior
I have used a product called Howard's Restor a Finsh for years-comes in a variety of colors (I have used the Light Oak and Maple Pine in my Cape Dory with amazing results.) Takes care of the water stains, brightens up the wood and even cleans up the soot, etc. After using this stuff, use Howard Feed and Wax (bees wax and orange oil) to make it really shine! Easy to use, and can be purchased at any major hardware center.

Scott's Liquid Gold. Solid, not from the spay can.Russell wrote: I read, somewhere, what Cape Dory used on the interior teak. Naturally, it has slipped my mind. If someone posts it here, I will write it down.
We have been using it for years on our 330 and it does a wonderful job of cleaning, protecting, and generally making things look good.
We put it on with fine bronze wool and then wipe it down with those diaper like lint free rags they sell at places like West Marine.
