Surveyor recommendation

Post by vtsailor »

I'm looking for a surveyor familiar with Cape Dory's in the Northern RI/ Southern Mass area.
Can anyone here recommend someone they have used?
Cheers!

I can recommend Capt. Rob Scanlon of Nahant, Ma. with high regard. He knows CD'S and is very professional. He did my pre-purchase , after restoration he did the insurance survey.
He travels all over N.E. and will arrange a time when in your area.

Both well recommended

Norm LeBlanc checked out my boat, and steered me away from another boat. He was recommended to me by three people in my office, who had also used his services.

That said, Rob Scanlan has a very good reputation as well.

Good luck!

I highly recommend Peter Hunt. He used to work at Cape Dory and understands the boats really well. Also, he is very very detailed and checks everything stem to stern... on my CD25 he spent almost 8 hours. Also, he was very helpful with explanations of trouble areas and ideas on possible fixes. Good luck with your search.
