After 17 years of restoration the 1888 Lawley racing yacht ELF has been rigged and made ready for sail at Philadelphia's Independence Seaport Museum. Please go to the URL below for an extensive set of photos. I crewed the shake down sailing and delivered ELF to the Chesapeake Bay week before last. She will be day sailing out of the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in St. Michaels, Maryland until August 10th. Our Cape Dory 31 SURPRISE will be at the Museum docks this Sunday afternoon through Thursday as a day base for crew. Join us at the museum and perhaps take a sail on ELF upon the Miles River. She is without a doubt the most complicated small boat rig I have ever sailed!
Cheers!
