That's EXACTLY what I've been trying to learn.

I used the word rudder when I should have been clear saying removed the shoe that the rudder sits on at rear of hull.....after
several days of trying to dry with heat lamps....water continued to leach out of hull where shoe was......and only stopped after no water in bottom of bilge and then took several days to dry.......

btw there was over an inch of glass on each side of shoe......

I think I may have water there too. The meter shows wet there even though the bilge has been dry for a long time. I have been attributing the reading to possible metal in the structure. I know the shoe (gudgeon?) is in there, but I'm measuring ABOVE where that should make a difference. I also have an integral holding tank somewhere around there, but I don't know where the bottom of that is. Exactly how far up from the gudgeon did you drill the drain?
