Membership Directory??

Post by Peter Kozup »

In a very recent post it was stated that all paid up members should have received a membership directory. I am a paid up member, but did not know there was such a thing as a membership directory. How do I get mine??

Hmmm... I haven't received one either... We did just move (yet again, groan!) but that was a month ago and mail is forwarding nicely.

The last printing of the membership directory was a couple years ago -- 2006. If you were a paid up member in 2006 (you paid your dues BEFORE the directory was printed and mailed -- this means that you paid on time by December 31, 2005), you should have gotten one in 2006. It is not printed every year due to cost of printing and mailing. But you can ask for an electronic copy from CDSOA Membership Chairman Don Paquette. The electronic copy is up-to-date.

Membership Directory

Post by aja »

The 2008 membership directory will be mailed to members with the next issue of the Masthead. Electronic version will be available after printed copy has been mailed. If the printed copy is not sufficient, please email for an electronic copy AFTER you receive it.

All members who join by June 30th will receive a printed copy.

So if you haven't joined yet, now is the time.

Thanks,
Don

Greening of CDSOA

Post by Jim Buck »

I'm gonna go out on a limb here... I would be just as pleased to receive only the electronic versions of the directory and the Masthead. Perhaps the funds for printing and distribution could be used for...a higher salary for the editor, another award (crustiest cap'n?), or another case of beer at a rendezvous. Just a thought from an ecologizer.

Now, about them Y-valves...

Digital would be my choice too... (if we're taking a poll)

Digital

Post by Neil Gordon »

I'd prefer member choice for digital or snail mail for all communications from CDSOA. I'd take digital.

Postage and printing is a significant percentage of the CDSOA budget, by the way. (To be fair, weigh the postage savings vs. the extra work involved in multiple formats.)

I agree, it's nice that the printed option is available for those who want it, but save some trees and let the majority of people just get the electronic copy.

Ditto on digital! You can generate a PDF file for free using OpenOffice, then those that must can print their own copy.

I'm good with only the electronic version

CDSOA members only....

Post by Cathy Monaghan »

This note is for CDSOA members only:

If you're a current CDSOA member in good standing (membership paid in full -- message board usage does not constitute membership) and would like electronic delivery of our newsletter MASTHEAD, please send me a note which includes your actual name (not your CD message board username), your boat's name and the email address that you would like to use for delivery of the MASTHEAD. (I need this info in order to verify membership status.)

This is for the MASTHEAD only, not the membership directory.

Thanks,
Cathy
